ROUNDUP SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER 2020

The Energia Community Series action returned to Templeville Road this afternoon where our 1st XV hosted Lansdowne

Unfortunately despite a promising start it wasn’t to be in a very tight game with little in it between both sides. Lansdowne won 13-10 in the end. St. Mary’s has to settle for a losing bonus point.

Scores:

7 mins - try by Matthew Oppermann. Converted by Mick O’Gara 7-0

42 mins - penalty try 7-7

55 mins - penalty by Mick O’Gara 10-7

60 mins - penalty by Charlie Tector 10-10

70 mins - penalty by Charlie Tector 10-13

Thank you to HBV Studios who provided the G-Mack sponsored streaming on our Club YouTube Channel. It was great to hear our own Niall Rynne back in the commentary again today.

Stay tuned to our Website/App/Club Ezine/Social Media channels next week for the great D O’Brien’s match report from the game.

In today’s other Leinster Conference 1 games: Contarf were winners in Castle Avenue over Naas 34-7. Old Wesley were winners in the Donnybrook Derby game against Old Belvedere 30-18. Rounding off the Conference 1 action today down in D6W our neighbours Terenure were on the wrong side of a high scoring game against Dublin University 36-31.

Meanwhile in Leinster Conference 2 in the only games played today:

Greystones lost at home 38-24 against Wanderers. Malahide were victorious at home 21-10 over the travelling Tullamore. Finishing off the Conference 2 against Barnhall enjoyed a big away win in Skerries 52-5.

Next up for our St. Mary’s men is a trip to Naas next Saturday. Keep an eye on our Social Media channels for more details on the game!!
